15% of the world’s population lives with some sort of disability. For the past 50 years, people of all types of disabilities have been fighting for rights in accessibility and respect. Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 was one of the first U.S. federal civil rights laws offering protection for people with disabilities and set precedents for subsequent legislation for the minority. In my collection, I have honored the original activists of the movement, as well as represent those continuing the fight today.
